Today went pretty well. Started off rocky with an early telemarketer call. A plumber I had waited a week to get off vacation came by. Checked out my systems, and suggested a call to the sewer commission. Thirty minutes later they show up and replace a fuse. Can't believe I drove myself and my kids crazy over a fuse. The one good thing was the plumber didn't charge me a dime. Thank Goodness for Angie's List.
Spent the day looking for clothing my darn kids packed up for a potential move. I'm handicapped and use a walker. I've mastered going down my deck steps backwards holding onto each step. The trick is getting the walker down to the walkway, and then slogging across the grass as it is a shorter trip to out detached garage. I moved over sixty boxes looking for fall and winter slacks, and a box of underwear. These kids must have fifty fancy bras and thongs (yuck!), and they leave me seven days of underwear.
After a full two hours of looking through boxes (why label the boxes?) I'm pushing a large plastic tub of slacks, and a box of underwear across the lawn. A male neighbor came running over asking me what the heck I was trying to do? I just remarked that they were boxes of clothes that were accidentally put in the garage. This great guy carried box parcels into my house and then came and helped me inside. Sure wish I had a beer for him, but he declined a drink and mentioned the next time I was going to do something stupid to give him a call.
So here I am only having lost .4 pounds after a day of slogging boxes. Tomorrow better be better. I hope others on this challenge are doing better.

This starts my first challenge. I hope I can stay focused as I really like to do my own thing. It's kind of nice knowing others share my struggles.

I'm trying to pay more attention to the time I eat, and the quantity. I'm preparing for a full knee replacement October 1, and I know the more weight I lose the easier my recovery will be. Due to stupidity, I tripped on my walker and now I'm using crutches. Not the exercise I should be getting.

Well it had to happen. I gained three pounds and I know why, I made doctors appointment for next Tuesday. I spent a week dog-sitting for my daughter. She lives on ten of the most beautiful acres, which is waste for me since I'm unable to walk the grounds. I believe the extra pounds may be from a cortisone shot in my right knee. My daughter has an extra-large ranch, and I used my walker to get in my steps each day. I'm scheduled for knee surgery October 1, so I better get it in gear.

Hanging there. Trying to stay off starches. Mainly sticking with white meats and vegetables. Mornings are hard but I'm trying smoothies. Haven't had good news from my latest EGD. The ulcer has grown from 4 cm to 8 cm. Now I have to have some kind of blood gas test. Frankly, I think the pain and ulcer medications are killing me. When I reach my goal weight I'm going to eat something wonderful. Don't know what yet, but I'm making a list.
