I discovered that YES,
you can cook lentils in a rice cooker!!
I used 1 cup of lentils to 2.5 cups of water and cooked on the plain rice setting for 30 - 45 minutes. I didn't pay attention to the time I started the cooking process, as I trusted the cooker to do its thing. oops LoL
It seemed to be taking longer than the normal 30 minute rice timing, so I started checking the water amount and lentil firmness after what I think was about 35 minutes of cooking.
As soon as all the water was gone, I shut the machine off and let it steam for about 5 more minutes.

I finished digging out a lily bed from my front yard today and as I sit here typing...my tummy is growling its displeasure at being empty! I have no idea what to make for supper and my brain is thinking rapid-fire ideas while random thoughts of stupid nothings pop into the supper equation! Gotta love this kind of thought processing!
Has anybody ever used a rice cooker to cook lentils??? hmmm, gonna have to Google that one to see if it can be done! Do I have any more paint hiding somewhere to finish that DIY project that I started today or should I just leave it as is and get those mirrors into the gardens? I wonder if that store still has protein powder on sale - I miss it in my oatmeal. All righty then....time to see what's in the freezer to cook for supper!!oh be still my racing thoughts!! LoL

losing weight is NOT about skipping meals/starving yourself or never eating your favourite foods and it sure as Hell doesn't happen overnight!!
It's a long, frustrating, emotional journey as you try to figure what works....is it reducing sugar intake, exercising, eating 3 square meals or 6 little meals....eating more complex carbs or protein or vegetables....no-one can answer that....you have find what works for you!
