June 15, 2020 regaining ground I lost when I ate too much and some of the wrong things on my birthday. Two lbs are automatic when I eat starchy foods. And the sheer bulk of food can add weight as well. 170 yesterday. Today 169. I hope to get back to 168 tomorrow. No starch or sugar today. Veggies but not in bulk. We'll see how it goes.

June 14, 2020, Sunday Another blessedly cool, rainy day which whittles away at our drought. Yesterday was my birthday and i stayed on my plan until dinner time when I ate a rich salad and finished up with a 1/4 piece of birthday cake and two tablespoons of ice cream. This morning I have gained a lb and feel a bit nauseous, however, that extra carb has left me hungry today. Did wake up with 100 blood sugar.
I know I Need to get back to high protein pattern that staves off hunger and gives high energy.
Having lost 30 lbs and maybe taking extra calcium--not sure if that matter-- I tackle stairs with energy and much better sense of balance and control. I don't need to hold on to the bannisters and haul myself up. That is an unexpected bonus. Losing that weight is like losing 20 years of what I regarded as age related limits to energy, balance and strength.

June 11, 2020 Thursday Wt. 168.2, blood sugar 109. Staying down. I hope that is proves to be a real loss.

June 9, Wonderful to see weight going down (168 this morning but blood sugar is up to 130. I have a headache and slept pretty heavily from 9 to 7:30. I usually can't sleep more than 6 or seven hours a night with long periods of wakefulness, so that is unusual. I had some scary dreams, usually the result of upset stomach and underlying anxiety or apprehension about something, but other than the natural concern about the welfare of my company and the survival of everyone one's jobs, there is not a lot. Of course, I do worry about the grandchildren but at this point that is more a problem of patience.
