Yesterday I confirmed for myself something I suspected...if I eat/drink outside the diet, I don't just have symptoms right then--they continue all day, for many hours! Even if I toe the line the rest of the day. Or don't eat the rest of the day.
😟 One to remember...I
I haven't gotten off to the healthiest start today, but I do have lots of healthy food here (at a friend's place where I'm staying) and yummy plans.

I kinda fell off the food-recording plan I had. It just seemed like too much to figure out macros when I was struggling so much with just eating. I didn't go on any weird food binges and it is unlikely that I got enough calories.
I did notice feeling less mindful about cooking and eating, and as I 'm eating or drinking every hour, being less mindful about food means being less mindful about life. That feels like a good learning from all this.
Yesterday coffee exceeded food, and I got really shaky. So I ate and drank a bit to counteract. Then I had dinner. And that was too much, so symptoms. 😕 Boo. But much nicer than before the diet!
The chili (vegan, low FODMAP, low fat, low fiber) (really more like veggies in chili sauce!) turned out great. So there's that! And I am less discouraged in general. Reading about others'successes and challenges helps me a lot. Thank you!!!

A wee croissant AND a cappucino proved too much at once, symptoms returned. A little early to be on the other side of the learning curve.😄
Oh! I had a glass of wine last night, and it didn't seem to wreck everything. I want it to be a very occasional thing.
I am feeling pretty happy about this foodie stuff! Going to work harder over the next few days on food/liquid timing and getting more protein and stuff.

Shopped for food again today...was not as discouraged by "what I can't eat."
Just tried to be aware and patient with myself and with the process.
Inspired by another member's photo (thanks love2educate!) I got zucchini, baby peppers, and potatoes to make a low FODMAP, low fat/fiber chili suitable for gastroparesis.
I think I could maybe eat/drink more if I set a timer. I'm going to try it for the rest of the day..starting now!

Yay! A good day, macro fiber-speaking. But still too much fat. And still not enough calories...in spite of cake for breakfast!
I will not be discouraged or foiled by this diet! 😂
