Full holiday visiting my family. Left my laptop at home and somehow it freed up my time. I'm surprised I lost weight as I sampled almost every dish. I'm finding if I start off with a two-cup salad with just vegetables, I am able to keep my samplings down to a tablespoon, or one ounce or so of other items. Hopefully I am able to follow tis trend at home.

Had my right knee replaced on Oct. 1. I spent 28 days in rehab. The facility was top notch when it came to my private room, and the staff were wonderful. I really miss the OT and PT I had each day. I've signed up for private therapy near my home. The pain was and still is HORRENDOUS. The only thing missing at this facility was great food. On my exit papers, I gave the food and beverages 3 stars out of 10. That's how I managed to lose as much as I did.

Well I put two pounds back on. Too much holiday food. And you might know I had an appointment with my cardiologist. Thankfully he is happy with the progress I've made. He said the words I wanted to hear, "see you next year". Twenty-one days to knee surgery, so I better get on the ball.

Well, I didn't sign in every day, but I managed to lose weight and exercise each day. I've had a busy two week period of seeing every doctor that keeps me going. I've even survived a session with a therapist for my pain management. It seems if you take a certain level of pain medication and want to get off the meds, you're treated like a drug addict. I'm going to keep at staying busy mentally and physically as much as I can. Hopefully I will be able to exercise more once my knee is replaced. It's good for me to see what all the other people are doing to lose weight and keep positive attitudes.

Rainy day in Hartland. I'm trying to stay busy by cleaning my house. I made my special cookies for one of my daughters. Thankfully that is one food I don't like. I'm still drinking the citrus water. I can't say it solves my thirst problems, but it does seem to cut my desire to snack.
