Staring over - AGAIN!
In August of 2011, I weighed 183 pounds. Five years prior to that, I weighed somewhere in the 165 pound range. Here I am in 2017 - 260 pounds! When I look at my profile in the mirror, the image I see does not coincide with the image I have of myself inside my own head.
I have also been diagnosed with High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, and blood sugar levels that make me a border line diabetic - so it is time to take some action!
Having been down this road many times - having lost up to 50 pounds more than twice - i know there are many different routes one can take to lose weight - the only problem with those routes is the obvious question - are they maintainable?
I know I cannot lose the weight overnight - I know it is going to take time. I technically started some changes about 3-4 weeks ago. I have eliminated artificial sweeteners - I have started taking Metaformin 500mg after every meal (it has helped reduce appetite) - I am trying to eliminate as much gluten as possible, and trying to focus on eating 3 meals a day, and cutting as many processed foods as possible.
The one thing I really have to change is portion sizes and try to limit how much I eat - one day at a time. I am also pledging to weigh in once a week and will journal my week.

I did something yesterday I wish maybe I hadn't done - I viewed my weight history. Just over 5 years ago I was roughly 75lbs less than I am today and was active on this site daily trying to lose more weight.
I didn't give into anything crazy yesterday and have not given up but I am completely depressed that I have regressed so badly.
You always here stories of the people who loses weight and then double what they lost and that is almost me.
What is worse is I am 5 years older and I feel my metabolism has slowed right down. Over the past four weeks I have tried to eat sensibly and although I have lost some weight I know I have mountains to move.

Losing 0.4 kg a Week

September 2016 - I have hit rock bottom. The fat clothes I bought to accept how much i weighed are no longer fitting, and it is getting to a point where I would soon have to go shopping in a special store. I have had enough of short term happiness eating burgers, fries, pizza, donuts, pastry, breads, chips, and beer like no tomorrow is here and it is time to fix this.
I have gone 8 months and 21 days without smoking, so hopefully I can invest the same energy losing weight. I am a total junk food addict, emotionally addicted to sugar foods, and a total fast food junkie.
I have done this before - I have the clothes to prove it! My biggest focus will be what I eat, but I will try and become more active. In 14.5 months I will turn 45, and when I do I am hoping to be at my goal weight of 165lbs.
Here goes nothing!
