This was a strange weight week. I tend to weigh in only once or twice a week (Wed and Sun). I was 214 last Sunday. My Weds weigh in was 218 (+4 - did not record it). I checked my weight the rest of the week and it never got below 214 except for today. As near as I can tell, little changed as far as food or excretions over the course of the week. I have had bronchitis (with antibiotics), and only exercised once this week (Friday - I usually ride my bike as fast as I can for 30 min 3 times/week). I am surprised at the variance. I have not seen that much swing occur over the period of a week.

I am half way there! I started at 235 in mid-Mar with a goal of 195 by mid-July. Today I weighed in right at 214. When I started the diet, I was a little worried that my metabolism would have slowed given that I am 53 years old. But so far, things are progressing about how I would have expected. It all comes down to keeping an eye on your average caloric intake - which for me has been around 1700/day. All in all, the quantity of food (or lack there of) has not been too much of an issue. I did have one week where I was tired of it all and just wanted to go back to my bad habits - but I stuck it out and got past it. The hardest part was really getting started. The first week took a lot of time figuring out what foods worked for me, understanding (weighing) how much I could eat, preparing food at home instead of eating out, etc. But after the first week, the process is second nature and has very little impact on my day to day life. The FatSecret phone app is also a big help. Thanks to all for the support they have given me over the past couple months. I am looking forward to attaining my goals early this summer!
