Only minus 50 net calories today, doubtless due to the 2nd avocado I ate this evening. Yet it seemed to be exactly what I needed, so there it is.

Got a wonderful surprise when I got back from getting groceries. My friend was standing outside our apartment building, smoking a cigarette. We chatted for a while (as we always do), and she asked me if I'd lost more weight, as I looked even thinner than I did last week. How sweet is that? And, as if the Universe hadn't handed out enough good vibes, I met her again this evening as I was coming from my mailbox. She was walking down the stairs with an armload of stuff, having just finished cleaning an apartment vacated by a student. She asked me if I would like a scale, and then handed it to me: holy cow! We chatted for another while (it's just how we roll), and when we finally parted, I wished her lots of fun with her "new" toy: virtual reality goggles that fit the iPhone her son had bought her for Christmas! We both made out, like it was our birthday: wowee-woo!

Got the laundry done without issue, so no stress-eating there. Later on, in the afternoon, I tried (yet again) to load one of my music CDs on my phone. I had earlier been able to copy the album art, the m3u list, and the first track without issue. The second track, however -- an any others from that album that I tried -- kept failing and failing and failing. Today, practicing deep breathing between each effort in order to keep my thinking clear, I managed to discern that the problem was in the copying program, and switched to bluetooth-ing them over to the phone, although even that was not without disconnections and other failures. Finally, I got the whole thing on my phone, more accurately on the phone's SD card, and to do so without stress-eating. Hmmmmm!

In the process, I realized that: 1) much of my stress-eating can be stopped by utilizing the deep-breathing techniques learned for use in emotional-crisis situations, and; 2) part of the reason I was overeating was because my taste buds max out after two bites, thus leaving me feeling I had missed out on my intake of food.

Go figure! So, I decided to clean up the failed phone attempts later, and looked around the interwebs for palate-cleansing stuff that I could use while rather than after eating a course. What looks most do-able and non-destructive-to-my-budget are Tea and Celery. Can't drink the medicinal tea more than once a day, and won't drink the Green Tea any more often than I already do, but could certainly afford a box of Trader Joe's mint tea. Once I start working again, I can buy celery. All the other palate-cleansing foods would be overkill during a course, especially if that "course" means snacking on an Avocado.

We live and we learn.

Okay, negative net calories so far. Last night, I lost my mind (I think the blueberries took it over for a few hours) and ate a whole bunch of berry fat bombs. In an effort to stop that, I spooned out some peanut butter. Four teaspoons later, I was finally free of the binge-monster. So it's settled: the next batch of fat bombs will be made with the unsweetened (yay!) peanut butter.

The curry sauce was a lot easier to make than I thought it would be, and man, is it spicy! This stuff is gonna be around for a while, too, since I could stand to eat no more than a tablespoon of it on the veggie burger. Good thing my fridge is basically a freezer!

While at Trader Joe's this morning, I forwent the veggie burgers in favor of the cruciferous vegetable mix. They'll yield fewer carbs, give me way more minerals, and will be a good way to use up the aforementioned sauce.
