Well, here goes my first diary entry. I'm sure it's gonna be a long one.

I've been down this road before. I always ended up making a wrong turn somewhere along the road and got lost. This time, even though I am directionally challenged, I am going to stick to this road to the end. Hopefully that end will be a long time coming! I'm not looking to be pushing up daisies any time soon.

Doctor after doctor has told me that I need to lose weight. I'm considered in the morbid obesity range - yikes - it's time to start listening to them. No more excuses of 'it runs in my family, everyone on my mom's side was fat' or 'it's too expensive to eat healthy' or 'I'm just not in the mood to exercise, I don't feel good, my back hurts, I don't feel like it right now'. I'm going to start eating healthy and exercising whether I want to or not!

The last doctor I had (before my current one) put me on basically the Atkin's diet with fiber cereal allowed 3 times a week, and an apple or banana a day. My current doctor only showed me the food pyramid. So, I will continue with the previous doctor's plan.

Doing well. I didn't 'really' do induction (I follow the 1972 Atkin's book), but have lost 10 pounds this month since I saw the doctor last. Not too shabby! I found a lot of recipes and a couple of groups on FaceBook, so am trying out new things, keeping within my diet. My bf loves the food, although he says if I continue to cook like this he's going to gain 20 pounds haha. He's not following the diet at all, and continues to eat the old way, with tons of carbs and such. I'm trying to get him to give them up little by little, and he is eating better now, but still ...

I have the Leslie Sansone Walk Away The Pounds video so am doing that now. I used to do it a couple of years ago. I am so out of shape now, that I can't get through a workout (yet). Perseverance is the key! A little more each day, and I will be doing it in no time. I do my best, and that's all I can ask of myself!

I read and re-read the doctor's notes and summary of my last physical on Jan. 2nd this year (2018). After I read I am morbidly obese I started thinking about it. Looking at my weight and numbers, I realize I could fit at least two people in this one body. Unacceptable! No wonder I feel like crap! Well, I'm going to say goodbye to the fat me that inhabits this body, and say hello to the fit, healthy one!

Here's a picture of me now. I really hate taking my picture, but I wanted to start a picture diary of what I look like now and how I progress.
