I haven't been on here for almost TWO YEARS! Yikes! Good news is that I'm slightly under what I weighed when I was on here last...but its easy to see I haven't been devoted to losing for awhile. Lately my knees have been very sore, so I'm feeling extra motivation to relieve my pain by losing a few lbs. I set a goal of 15lbs by Labor Day. Not overly ambitious...but definitely doable.
Can't wait to see if some of my old friends are still hanging out here once in awhile! I've really missed the support and can't wait to hear what's going on in your lives!

Losing 0.0 kg a Week
05 October 2009
Okay, went MIA again - BA called me out!! School just overwhelms me sometimes. So, I'm making it a PERSONAL GOAL to check in here at least once a week!! I have to do it. I do so much better when I'm checking in regularly.
I have been eating HORRIBLE. But I've been exercising more. Water aerobics has been great. I'm having a great time - but because of my schedule I only do 2x a week. So, I try to walk on other days. So far (for about a month now) I've been doing good.
I've decided that I am going to reevaluate how I diet - or change my eating habits. Since I always do better when I put things in writing I am going to bore the socks off of anyone who is reading my journal and has stuck with it so far....Here's your chance to leave!!! This is for me to refer back to....I don't care if you read on...but don't feel obligated to!!! :)
TO START - BREAKFASTS:
I'm going to have a good, high-protein breakfast (since starting on Atkins, that has been one of the best things I've ever learned - I feel so much better throughout the day when I eat some good protein first thing in the morning). I will have sausage or bacon only once a week with breakfast (the salt makes me retain water!).
LUNCH:
I'm going to have a SUPER light lunch. You know, I've never been that hungry at lunch anyway - but because I got in this pattern that I have to eat three meals a day, I got in the habit of having bigger and bigger lunches. I will, sometimes include a piece of fruit in my lunch selection. I've found, through experimenting that certain fruits don't spike my blood sugars.
OPTIONS
-a few strawberries and blueberries
-an apple
-a hardboiled egg
-veggies with a little dip
AFTERNOON SNACK:
If I find I still need a little something in the afternoon, I can have any of the above options again.
DINNER:
Will consist of a protein and veggies. Basically whatever I want.
EVENING SNACK:
a handful of nuts and maybe a little pumpkin with some sweetner in it. Or some sugar free jello.
And finally, I'm not going to eat after 8pm. I have gotten so into the late night snacking habit because I'm up late. NO MORE!!!
I know this isn't completely Atkins. But I want to see how I'm doing in two weeks and then reevaluate again.
Wish me luck!!

So good to hear from some of my "old" fs buddies!!! Yes, BA, I AM BACK!! And hopefully am doing better than before. Couldn't weigh in last week because I was out of town, so we'll see what two weeks back on the program means to the scales!!!
School has started again. That was bad news for me in the spring. But I think it will be better this time around. I was so nervous after being out of school for so long. I feel better about it now and more in control of my time.
My sister and I start water aerobics next week. I'm very excited about that. I need to move more. I just "feel" fat. Which is a new thing for me. That was one of the problems I've always had with dieting. It was so hard for me because I didn't usually "feel" fat. I would see pictures of myself and about flip out. "Who is that fat girl?"!!!! But now, it has caught up with me. So, I gotta do something about that.
Off to school. Probably will check in later tonight. Have a great day everyone!

I feel great!! Cutting back on carbs is definitely helping...and no withdrawls yet. But, I have to confess.....I went to the State Fair yesterday and had a corn dog....just had to. But other than that, I'm pretty much down to just a bowl of cereal in the morning with blueberries and then I'm pretty much carb free for the rest of the day. And besides, I walked like 17 miles yesterday at the fair, so let's just call it even. And guess what? My knee is fine. Hmmmm...makes me wonder. Maybe I just need to move.

Okay, my knee is definitely injured. I couldn't walk at all today. So day three of me trying to get moving just didn't work. I took some anti-inflamitory drugs tonight and my fish oil and I'll see how I feel in the morn.
Meanwhile - even though I haven't started induction yet, I'm eating a lot less and being careful about my choices. Besides the corn today I didn't have hardly any carbs. I actually already feel better. That is so good. I may ease myself into this over the weekend and therefore eliminate (or control) the side effects I usually have that first week.
But #1 focus is getting this knee back in shape. Water aerobics classes start mid-week next week. I will DEFINITELY be in them!
