Well it's been at least a month since I have been on the FS site. I haven't been following my diet since my daughter's wedding. Which went off without a hitch. It was a beautiful wedding and she was a gorgeous bride. There was a great turnout from the family and dancing all night long. I got to walk her down the aisle with her dad which was pretty special. Her dad hasn't been a part of life since she was 14 so this meant a lot to me. The majority of the guests had to travel to Boise since they all live out of state from Washington to Florida and everywhere in-between. The weather was beautiful and it was so nice to see everyone. 35 out of 39 of my immediate family (siblings and their families) attended. Every time I looked out at the dance floor there was always one of my brothers out there dancing. It was fun! The only downside was there was a 24 flu making its way through the wedding party. The bride and groom got it the day before the wedding and a couple of my boys and their significant others were affected the day of the wedding. It continued on after the wedding where several of our family members caught it which made their return travel unpleasant. 6 hours in a car with the flu can't be fun or the flight back to Florida.
The day after the wedding my family all got together a spent the day at a local park in downtown Boise. That evening we had the remainder of the wedding food and cake with the groom's family at the Air B&B they were renting. It was a great time of bonding between families. I did get a lot of compliments from my family on my weight loss which was gratifying. I still have a ways to go but the first phase went well.
I have been on a diet hiatus since the wedding though. Not eating the best. I have some good days but most of them are not so good. Remember I am an event dieter and it's an "All or nothing' approach. Well, the event I was losing weight for is now over so I need to find a new motivator to get back on it. I'm also a Monday dieter....there is something in my brain that sees only Monday as a start day for dieting. I know pretty stupid but believe me I've tried to start on other days but it doesn't work. So, my plan is to do some reading this weekend to get motivated to start again on this upcoming Monday. I also haven't weighed at all during this hiatus so it will be revealing when I step on the scale Monday morning. In the beginning of this month off I wasn't drinking my water the way I should have been so I have increased my water intake to get back to where it was. I have also noticed that I am getting more hot flashes and waking me up 2 to 3 times a night. Which while I was in control wasn't happening. In fact one of the best things about this Keto process was that I rarely had hot flashes day or night. If you have hot flashes you know how bad it can be especially when it interrupts your sleep. So that is another motivator for me to get back at it.
I will be going back home (Vancouver, Washington) for Christmas this year as well so looking at that for my next event motivator. I can't regain what I just loss and see the family. That in itself should be enough to get my butt in gear. There is a dress I bought the last time I lost weight and at that time I only had about 5 more lbs to lose to fit into it. It's still in my closet waiting for me to take it for a night out.
This next phase I need to add in exercise as a regular event. I started to back in April but my trip to Vegas derailed it and I couldn't get back into ti after I returned home so this time I need to re-focus and put some energy into that as well. Just writing all of this is getting my mouth watering to get back into it. Well now that's a start...you "Go Girl!'

It's the start of another week and less than 2 weeks to my daughter's wedding. I went to my dress fitting last week and nope it still didn't zip all the way up. The seamstress will be letting out a couple of the seams and have another appt. this Wednesday. Fingers crossed that she let out enough.
My daughter doesn't seem stressed about the wedding so I take that as my cue to not be stressed out about it either. Her fiance has been stationed in Turkey since last August and will be in country on Weds. She is so excited to see him. His parents arrive from Florida tomorrow. A week and a half before the wedding? Yep and not sure why. I just hope they give the kids their time alone together. We'll see.
I'm just excited to have all my kids, their significant others and grand babies all here. It's been more than a year since all of my kids were together and I can't wait. I have one more week of work and then off for 2 weeks. Super excited for that as well. Need to focus on getting the house clean and some yard work before the wedding. I guess that takes care of my plans for this upcoming weekend.
Work has been kind of slow which helps me stay in check on my WOE. I had interviews last week. Hiring a new person for one of my job openings. It went pretty smoothly. We had such a great pool of candidates that I wish I could have hired 2 people. It was interesting because out of the 6 I phone screened 3 of them had people reach out to me from inside the company to give me input on the person they knew. I have never had that happen before. Also interesting was that I didn't offer the job to any of those 3. They were all good but I had specific needs and only 1 candidate filled the specific need. We did send one of their resumes on to another manager who is hiring. For 2 of them we are sending info about other job openings within the company and trying to find a mentor for one of the candidates.
There was one candidate who just graduated in Dec. She put herself through school and it appeared was trying to do everything by herself. Unsure of how to break into the industry her degree was in. I think this was her first interview in the field. It was one of those times you think, " I need to help her.' I talked with some colleagues and we are working on how to provide mentoring and guidance so she doesn't feel like she has to do it on her own. Hopefully something will pan out.
And last but not least, my diet/WOE is plugging along. I still have a hard time getting enough fat. I am so picky that the foods with the high fat content are ones I don't like. Not a fan of avocados and I really do not like coconut. I like the smell in lotions but not in my food. I can taste it even if someone says, ' you can't even taste the coconut.' They would be wrong because I would be able to taste it. Remember back in the '80's when sprouts were a big thing? Every deli was adding them on sandwiches. I do not like sprouts (taste like dirt). Well, even if only 1 sprout made it on my sandwich I could taste it. Coconut is the same for me. Short story long, I need to keep working on this part of my diet. I'm also a boring dieter. I do a lot of repeats because I know I like it and it does not require a lot of energy.
Enough for today. Need to get back to work.
