Female, 52 years old residing in Elgin, Illinois. I've struggled all my life but have really exploded into the arena of "Obscenely Morbidly Obese" in the last 15 years or so. For a while I didn't care anymore, never thought it was possible. This year I got tired of limiting my life due to fat. My high weight 4 years ago was 342. I gradually came down to 316 over several years by cutting out fast food and daily candy grabs. That wasn't enough. Since January 2009 I went from 316 to 286 just staying below 1500 calories per day for at least 6 out of 7 days, the 7th being a day I could have dinner out, fast food, holiday, etc. I started daily exercise at 186 because all these veggies and fruits and lack of sugar and refined carbs has me so energetic, I figured it's time. I'm up to a mile per day of walking right now and hope to complete a 2 mile walk on Memorial Day. From there, I'd like to gradually train to complete a 5K run by Memorial Day 2010 and from there the biggest challenge of all.....to hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back out again without killing myself. LOL
