Hello...I'm 35 years old and I need to lose weight...I lost a lot of weight not that long ago, but I gained it all back due to my own laziness and focusing on other aspects of my life more than I focused on my health...
I had a wonderful opportunity to participate in a weight loss study through the University of Michigan, which I'm taking full advantage of...In the "My Diet", I listed that I'm in a weight loss study, but the details wouldn't fit, so I added them below...Please remember that I'm doing this while supervised by a team of doctors and nutritionists, and, once I'm finished with phase 1, also a trainer...FatSecret already yells at me enough about the rapid weight loss, so I don't need any members also pointing out that I'm losing weight "too quickly" :)
Phase 1 - Rapidly lose weight using an 800 calorie total meal replacement diet (HMR 800 shakes and HMR 500 chicken soup) until the participant loses 15% of one's body weight. 30-40 minutes of exercise is required daily to maintain muscle mass, while not over-extending oneself due to the restricted caloric intake.
Phase 2 - If one chooses to continue to lose weight, the doctors and nutritionist will work with them to lose more weight. At this point, they can choose to stay on meal replacement fully, to do partial meal replacement while blending in healthy food choices (which is what I'm doing), or to go fully on a healthy food diet.
Phase 3 - Maintain the weight loss using healthy choices and exercise until the end of this 2 year study (roughly 21 months after the initial 15% weight loss is complete)
