I used to be too skinny on purpose--extremely unhealthy==then became obese.I saw presentation by size acceptance author of "One Size Fits All and Other Myths" by Liz Curtis Higgs--awesome book & lady. I still believe that, but even Liz said, "Let your health be your guide." When I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2013 & then in 2015, my mother had severe stroke & I was her POA, I became afraid of her outliving me & my not being there for her. She had diabetes & had a tragic decline in health over 11 months (lost the ability to speak & cried all the time--not her at all) before she passed away. That was my wake-up call that I needed to lose weight to reduce my risk of stroke, which runs in my family along with diabetes. I took one of those "how long will you live" quizzes (don't do that) and prediction was that I wouldn't even make it to my mom's age. I still have a lot of living to do and it's time to get healthy although it's hard!
