You wouldn't know it by looking at me but I actually know more about proper nutrition than most people. I was in the supplement industry for many years and while that is most certainly not an indicator of someone with knowledge of nutrition, it does give you an idea that I have at least been surrounded by the idea of it. What set me apart in the industry was the fact that I already had a rough base of knowledge growing up, from my mom, added to that my own desire to learn for my customers benefit and most assuredly for my own. Then you end up someone who has done years and years of research on her own time.
My weight gain comes from a genetic predisposition, childhood and teenage tragedies and stress that sent me into a deep depression that lasted for years. I brought myself out of it when I was 16. People deal with that kind of stress in different ways and mine was with food and apathy. Everyone’s gotta eat right?
Now I'm almost 34 and have a 7 year old son. I was between 170-175 when I got pregnant and topped out at just ever 200 when I had him. Two weeks after having him and breastfeeding I was back to my pre-partum weight. But, struggles in my home life had me slowly gaining back the baby weight over the next year. The lowest I've been since having my son is 180.
I try to follow the rules of proper food combining. After searching for a healthy lifestyle change and all the gastro intestinal distress my husband and I have endured we have found that this is a way of life that not only works for us philosophically but intestinally as well.
2010 is going to be 'the' year. I first came to fatsecret a year and a half ago and there have been many may changes in my life that have led to me pretty well staying between a 10 pound range of when I first started on the site.
Weight loss is a secondary goal to my main goals which are to me very strong and very flexible.
Woo Hoo 2010!!
