I am a 52 year old project manager for an international Software and Engineering firm. We do control systems for oil companies (yes, even BP). We are in the downstream market, not drilling, but post refinery distribution.
My job is sedentary and takes me on the road a great deal (6-9 Months a year) so I don't get any exercise and I eat in restaurants most of the time.
At my age, I feel I am too young to feel this old! I am determined to lose the weight and improve my health and lifestyle.
I have been on the diet for about a month now and lost 6 pounds, which is way beyond expectation. The idea of taking in less than you expend is sustainable and you can eat pretty much anything, just not so much of it. As you learn what you can eat more of, you start to eat more properly, even in restaurants.
I am looking forward to no longer being the fat guy at work (5'10", 225) and being more fit so I can keep up with my wife and my colleagues.
