Can I ask why you don't legumes? I'm just curious cause I'm the same way, and oh man how I miss peanut butter.

Hmmmm Well Toumina that is a good question. I was looking for an article which outlined why I don't eat legumes. I often use Mark's Daily Apple as a resource. Often paleo do not eat legumes because of the lectins and phytic acid they contain. But here is a new article he wrote that may change both of our minds!

Article was called "How bad are peanuts really" on Mark's Daily Apple. Seems it cut-off the link.

I just ordered the sample pack! I am excited to try them, but like you, I am worried that is a lot of calories. Though I know with Keto, I dont have to watch my calories as closely, but I still dont want to be eating a ton. Thanks for the info, I am glad you shared.

My friend swears by the powdered peanut butter, which is essentially fat free. Which might not help your peanut situation, but there is fatfree peanut butter if you are looking for it.

There are a couple of peanut butter alternatives out there that are essentially fat free powder. One is called PB2, and there's a couple other brands. It's much healthier than the "fat free" commercialized versions in the stores where they add fillers. You can either mix it with water or into things. I suppose those of you on keto could add your own fat of choice -a little food irony there - but it's full of protein and fiber and it tastes really good in both sweet and savory things or just mixed on a dish with water. One word of caution, always clean the plates and utensils promptly as it's a runner up to super glue once dried.

I do not eat legumes, because I can "feel" move through my body, and they make me tired. Another eating program states that not everyone can eat them safely, and people with Type O blood should never let them pass their lips. I have Type O blood, so I replaced peanut butter with tahini decades ago. It can be used the same way one uses peanut butter. I use it to make frozen fat bombs.

Moogliemynes, why shouldn't type Os eat legumes?

I learned that from a book, *Eat Right 4 Your Type*. I think it has to do slowing down the metabolism. The website is dadamo.com, but it is a large site with a lot of info. I read the book 15 years ago, so some of the info is fuzzy. I have a problem digesting legumes, and this book told me why.

Also, folks doing the Paleo diet (those I follow here) don't seem to eat legumes at all. Maybe this is why. https://paleoflourish.com/paleo-why-legumes-are-bad

Interesting. As a child I we had beans twice a week as a meal, and to this day I eat pinto and black beans weekly, and a 1/2 cup of peanuts as well. I will have to research this. I do know that when I began this journey a few years back I was eating black beans about 4 times a week.

I am an "O" type and love them but also have some of the symptoms mentioned in the article. I'll mention this to my doctor if I ever schedule that colonoscopy.
