crstlgls's Journal, 26 Feb 18

I've been kind of sleepy lately, so I'm going try some different things to help me sleep better. I got buzzed repeatedly at 4:30 this morning, but refused to take anyone in. I do not get up until 6:00, so I did not get up to open the door.

My butt has also been feeling itchy again; it could be the erythema I had coming back. I'll use the powder I have left that my doctor prescribed for it when it feels itchy and keep an eye on it.

I have sleep issues all the time, so I try to eat something with magnesium about an hour before bed - avocados, bananas, leafy greens, whole grains, legumes, seeds.. I will usually make a bean and whole grain dish with spinach and kale to eat around 9 pm because I don't go to bed until 10 pm. Not a lot, just a 1/2 cup of the whole grains and 1/2 cup of beans with 1 cup of steamed spinach/kale added to them, and some spices. That alone gives me around 86% of RDI. Magnesium calms the nerves throughout the body. Helps to lull you into a nice sleep. Also prevents leg cramps (charley horses)
