why doesn't the food logging not subtract the sugar alcohol from the carbs?

you can set the food log to measure "Net carbs" which is subtracting the fiber - that may help

I have it to do that. But it doesn't subtract the sugar alcohol. It just messes up my numbers.

My son is a type 1 diabetic and our experience is that sugar alcohols have a non-zero effect on blood glucose levels. We typically subtract only half the sugar alcohols when calculating his insulin dose.
