Oops I meant I was overestimating what their weights were by using measuring cups and spoons. For example usually I would eat like two raspberries, but learned I could eat like six and they have more fiber than I thought they did. 👍

It's really important to weigh and measure. Because like you said, you usually underestimate! Your plateful looks delicious--especially those raspberries ;)

it is really funny about what we think a food volume is. I use a scale to measure out my food and think "wow... I can have all that" - thanks for posting.

Yep love my food scale...measuring a pork rind snack awhile ago and I just dump the small amount left in the bag into my bowl weighd it... stated 1.15 oz then I had noticed that there where a lot of fine powder type crumbs in bottom of bowl so I removed the pork rinds I could eat... dump the fine crumb powder in the trash and it was only .80 ounce then ...not even an ounce...and it can work both ways... you can eat way to much by just eye balling it lol;)

Thanks all!
@Elizabeth I am just getting into the weighing part. But I mostly weigh the things that have carbs. To start, to make sure I am being accurate about the Net Carbs I am consuming. I have been eating until I get full and drinking lots of water, so I’m not being too strict on calories, but do want to watch those carbs for keto woe.
@tahoebrun yeah I was kinda shocked. And I also was assuming the chunks of salami I was eating was a full serving, but it’s actually only 1/2!! So my food diary will be getting much more accurate!!

Same here. When I started on FS in Sept I was horrified to see how much I had been eating. Now, just by measuring almost every meal, and sometimes saying no to unnecessary second helpings, I’ve lost 20# without any exercise.(just think what I could achieve if I could walk on a regular basis!). Keep up the good work!

@stromie since September I have lost 27lbs with no exercise, just keto. Even took a six week break (not by choice) but managed to not gain it all back by making some better choices when I could.
@sunnypeg I planned to get one from Santa but funds were tight after the fires... but so happy I have one now!!
