Klynn82's Journal, 15 Jan 18

I messed up this weekend. I had sloppy joes, I didnt eat a bun, but didnt think about the sauce. I know its silly, but I feel like a failure now. I was doing really well. I had smoked chicken and turkey on Saturday and then Sunday we had dinner as a family and I even opted out of the cheese dip because it was made with velveeta and I think that stuff is poison anyway. I just ate a bowl of meat and didnt think about the sugar laden sauce. I should have. I should have known, but I just wasnt thinking. I know I cant beat myself up, because it doesnt help anything, but I just hate it.

I feel like my face is slimmer. I am not as tired, I wake up easier and can stay up later. I know that this is a good thing for me, I know its going to be hard. I am just too hard on myself.

I have found more acceptance and support on this site than I thought I would though. It is amazing, and you are all such wonderful people. I was part of another website, but they were all weight lifters and gymrat type people and I just didnt find any support or caring there. I see it here and it makes me feel really good. Thank you all!!

Down 3lbs is awesome. AND now you are thinking about what you’re eating whereas before you were mindlessly eating...this is a huge improvement. Be proud!

Sloppy Joe's are the ultimate comfort food and I love them, with or without a bun! Do I eat them every day? No. But here and there a Sloppy Joe is good for the soul. I am maintaining a 90 plus pound weight loss for many years. It's all about what is sustainable over time. Your diet will change as your lifestyle and body changes. Give yourself permission to enjoy your meals. What you eat does not make you good or bad. Food is neutral. Relax and have some with the process . :-)

You are no failure! You've lost 10 lbs since you started and you have the courage to decide to change your life in a very positive way, that is as far from failure as possible. Sure you ate some sloppy joe, but you didn't eat the bun or cheese dip, that's a win! We all miss a step now and then, but as long as you stay on your journey, everything will work out fine and you will reach your desired destination. Be proud of where you are. :)

You are too hard on yourself Klynn - you are doing AMAZING! You don't have to be perfect to still be awesome. Slow and steady wins the race!
