mamamc7's Journal, 27 Oct 17

It has been a long week vent:

Ended yesterday's carbs at 6.5 total carbs, not bad but much higher than yesterday's 1.1 total carbs but I also needed it after a long day of shopping, moving furniture, building furniture and organizing our play/school room! I had no idea we had this much crap 🙈 Hours more of work today on the room, hoping to get my heart rate up again today. Felt good to break a sweat and be active all day!! Wish me luck on this project! Usually my OCD or ptsd kick in and projects end up 75% completed, because if it isn't how I expected it... it's just pointless to finish and be unhappy, hmmmm, maybe that's why other lifestyle options failed me?! Because I didn't see quick results if any like I have with Keto...

We live in a day and age of wanting instant gratification, don't we? You're in the majority, along with the rest of us... but, we can slowly-but-surely work ourselves out of the rut and into a lifestyle pattern that gets us the results we need. This is me... cheering you on!

Thanks you two!! I know it is something most deal with. Problem is I am very sentimental and we homeschool so it seems like we accumulated more than most people. And my kids get spoiled rotten by their grandparents, they don't understand that our house is literally out of room! But purging feels good and organizing feels great. also keeps me out of the kitchen, off my butt, off social media and focused on positivity. My project is about 20% done and I am feeling really motivated!

You should be proud of yourself for being able to accomplish what you have considering the OCD. I know it's very difficult. I wish you the best.

You're inspiring me! Are you getting any time for yourself these days? Do you remember what that is? ;-) Carbs-wise, I presume you're familiar with Leanne Vogel's female-specific keto approach. Not everything she says holds true for all women, but metabolism-wise, her stuff is worth looking at.

Thanks @zahira! My type of OCD is really weird... my whole house can be a wreck but I can't sleep because my fridge or pantries aren't organized. Like all the things no one ever sees bother me the most. But then I spend all day alphabetizing my DVDs but didn't get the dishes finished 😩🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

@T8U9 I still haven't found time for "myself" but organizing stuff while the kids read or play a board game feels like a vacation right now, how awful is that? I look forward to cleaning and moving furniture so I can get alone time 😩 I love my kids but would love a wild night in Vegas or even a day at the spa... one can dream 💫

Those were the days! it would be awful if it went on forever. Plus, it's good for kids to learn to do the visible tasks. ;-)

Don't over-think the carb count, or the other macros. Staying below 20 net carbs should keep you in ketosis. Strive for balance, and for eating healthy fats. I hope your calorie counts are more reasonable - eating too little, even with keto, can slow your metabolism and weight loss down. I aim for 1250 cal at 150 lbs.

@gz9gjg I don't over think it really anymore. Just trying new things I read about so I don't get too bored with the same old same old. Also self discipline, helps me in my spiritual journey as well.
