Fellow FS folks:
Well, I discovered something interesting. I hear much about the benefits of Stevia - sweet, non-caloric and doesn't raise blood sugar. My first attempt of using it was my purchase of a product called Truvia. great, now I am using stevia. Not so fast. Truvia seems to be a highly processed "food" where the original stevia id run through many alterations and additives to become the final product.
In particular, there are other products that have as ingredients stevia extract. Now this is closer to the original stevia with its associated health benefits.
So, I am going to look at Sweetleaf and Now brands to see if they are less processed, do not contain erythritol, and contain the actual stevia plant and not one of the extracted components.
This learning about foods never ends does it??
Bob PS And you wonder who is on our side sometimes?
