A Little Book on the Human Shadow by Robert Bly  

"One afternoon, several years later, watching snow fall on some long grass, I felt the positive dark come in again." Nice. 

I have suffered and survived the night, Bathed in dark water, like any blade of grass.

YES! Reading a Jung-based book I once found on a bookstore remainders pile removed so much fear. Good idea to revisit that. Thanks for reminder to refresh.  

The truth shall set us free! Some pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional. 🌺 

glen- I hear you. We feel pain, that cannot be denied, but it's our choice when we torment and disturb ourselves in life with our chitty chatty minds. Our mind creates our entire reality. Start to clear the mind and everything changes. Your friend made the choice to see things from a perspective of gratitude. He transmuted his experience. He felt good as a result of that. 😊 

glen- I know you like to write. If you just sit down and write that you are doing it in present tense (whatever you were previously admiring in your friend)- for example "I am going about my life grateful for..". You co create it in that moment. After all, time is really an illusion we experience. The "want" or "lack of" dissolves and the reality of "being" is created. Very simple but ridiculously powerful act. You have the distinct advantage of already enjoying language and writing - a unparalleled tool in transforming your reality. 😊
