I'm still here, hovering just below 235.
The bad news is my diet has been off the rails. I had about a month of eating out due to family circumstances and a work trip. I did my best to pass up liquid calories but did indulge in desserts and caught myself reverting back to some of my 'rock bottom' habits I had been doing right before I got started last fall (ordering 2 bagels or 2 orders of fries instead of one for instance). No matter how many times I restocked healthy foods I couldn't bring myself to eat them.
Well, a recent sickness has helped me to 'reset'. With no appetite and no sugar cravings this was just what I needed to refocus.
The good news is I had my company mandated wellness screening and my numbers improved (they were never out of range but were even better) and I weighed in 30 pounds less than last year (fully clothed and in the midst of a business trip) far surpassing their benchmark and automatically earning my incentive. I also continue to see immense milestones in my strength and endurance.
I am going to try my absolute hardest these next two weeks BUT then I'm heading out on one more work trip and my first vacation in 3 years where I will indulge plain and simple.
I keep thinking how I would be at my goal by now if I didn't cheat myself since the start of 2017 but there's no going back, only forward. Although I'll be away on the one year anniversary of when this all started, the day I get back I will start again and this time will not stop until I reach that goal.
Overall, 35 pounds in a year is not too shabby especially considering most of that came off between Sept-Dec and at the rate I was going, I could've easily packed on 35 more if I wasn't vigilant.
Thanks for listening buddies!
