In December a co-worker my age, and hockey teammate, had a heart attack and made me really think about my health and the foods I eat. Then today, a fellow basketball coach and father, again my age, was diagnosed with cancer. Both of these men are professionals, fit, work out and athletes. However, there are two links, both are hard workers, work long hours and deal with job stress. I suspect, this stress was a factor in their unfair and sad illness. The body has the power to just one day say "NO". I am in this same situation. I unreasonably push my body, because my career often demands unforgiving deadlines or schedules. Although, I have cleaned up my eating and trying to incorporate 30 - 45 minutes of exercise a day, I can still tell I am not "healthy". I often have stress "knots" in my stomach. I don't sleep much, as my brain doesn't often want to sleep. I have bags under my eyes, wah wah wah, I know its the same as everyone else, but like you I enjoy the money. I enjoy the toys. I enjoy the vacations......... I wonder if there is a balance so we are healthy on the inside and healthy on the outside. Good luck all my FB buddies, take a minute out and smell the roses today.
