Holy Crap...

Things were busy last night, so for dinner, we just popped into Boston Pizza. Thinking I would be good, I ordered the Crispy Chicken Pecan salad and substituted the breaded chicken with grilled chicken.

When we got home, I looked up the nutritional information on the Boston Pizza website and my jar dropped when I saw that the salad was a whopping 1150 calories !!!!!

My wife had the baked ravioli and it was only about 700 calories... and it looked sooooooo good !!!!

Feeling so ripped off now.

That's crazy !!! Though.. admittedly, it was a pretty darn tasty salad.

Boston Pizza likes to add extra sugar and oils to their salads for flavor...Good job trying to choose a healthier option!!

Restaurants are not easy on us dieters!! Plain everything is the way to go since restaurants can be really sneaky. Grilled everything. No butter. No dressings. No croutons. Steak houses are the easiest for me... I get the smallest steak (5-7 oz) and then double veggie, no butter pretty much everywhere I go (be it Longhorn, Outback, or Texas Roadhouse). Then, of course, avoiding bread or peanuts as much as I can and no "house" cocktails unless they list the calories. If it wasn't so convenient, it would be easy to avoid it altogether!!

lol good for you trying. Don't you wish you would have just ate the baked ravioli? lol It's so hard to eat out and diet. I always try to just drink a lot of water and eat as little as possible and take home my left overs. If you split that salad into 2 meals it would have only been a 575 calorie meal :)
