Phil you are always so angry. Not everyone is starting out as a 350 lb man with 200 lbs to lose.

Edc, I'm never angry, people just tend to have a negative reaction whenever their bullcorn is called out.

I think some of you may be new and are taking Phil too literally. You may not have been here for "Ollie" or many of the others that used to berate Phil daily for losing weight his way (LCHF). Phil condones weight loss however it is working for the individual. Phil is correct. Any diet is a "fad" by definition if it is not a permanent way of changing how, why, and what we eat. I did not lose weight the way Phil has, but I certainly supported him in his weight loss the same way I support virtually everyone in their journey. Phil has done the same and has been extremely helpful to those who choose to follow LCHF - a poster boy even! Thanks for sharing the photo of your smoothie and posting the ingredients. I bet there are a lot of folks on here who will enjoy it. :)

Agree with RiverRes. And a big thank you to Tiane_JN1219 for the great recipe! Phil is correct. a sustainable lifestyle change is what you need. I weight 250 pounds because I live a 250 pound life. I'm trying to live a 220 pound life...

Ever one wants to lose weight but takes more than wanting for the weight loss to come off.....It's called life style change in eating....People need to research why it is so hard to lose the pounds. Simple when you have the real knowledge...wanting is not enough. I am one of his followers of Phil and his knowledge has given me my life back....so easy when you know what works and what doesn't. 25 years being fat was enough for me. Thanks for your help Phil.

Out of curiosity, is the shake a meal replacement or is it used as a supplement while working out?
09 May 17 by member: lakjhatch
Mlakhatch I used this as a meal replacement since I didn't have any other protein source in my house. My husband however uses this after a workout. I do not drink protein shakes very often.

@silverhides You can have both, yes - but some people so addicted to sugar that the flavors of things that are natural, or things like protein powders are absolutely gross. Kicking sugar addiction drastically changes how you view foods - or at least it did for me. But my meaning is more "food is fuel" vs "food is because I want it, and it makes me feel good" -- sure, if you eat healthily you may view it that way - but it's not the same for people who are heavily into the unhealthy lifestyle of eating.

I rarely have time to eat breakfast before work, so I've been using a whey-protein powder with unsweetened almond milk. I finally found one that doesn't taste awful. The brand is six star pro-nutrition, 30g of protein and only 2g of sugar per serving.

I added Zint Collagen protein to my diet because I can't eat enough protein plus collagen restores the elasticity to your skin. WIN WIN!!!!! :-)

Any diet is a fad indeed, a change of lifestyle is what is needed and regardless of what this page is you're not going to sit around and support people for anything, if they're doing something wrong and unhealthy we should point it out and encourage them differently not support them. I know for a fact y'all can't bring any of these fad diets to a nutritionist and get an okay unless they put you on one because it's some life threatening something that has to be dealth with like that. Do you have any idea what extreme fads do to your metabolism and how much weight you gain after? Even if it take 2 years you'll gain each and every lb back with interest because it's a fad not a lifestyle change. But don't listen to us, do it, gain it back and repeat because some of us like to make our own mistakes instead of learning from others. -_-

Question doesn't the whey powder add fat?? I'm new on here and to this diet scene so I'm trying to learn what's good and what's not I'm a diabetic also but I'm managing without medicine for the most part

kristimarie23: Dr Jason Fung does a lot of work with diabetics with fantastic results. I highly recommend his book, The Obesity Code. :-)

@ kristimarie23 The one I use is 100% whey protein and it has 3 grams of fat per serving. Not bad for the amount of protein you get, plus it has 23% of your daily calcium.

@KristiMarie23 And when you think about the fact that your foods choices contain only fat/carbs/protein and all calories come from one of those 3 things, you would want something higher in protein to be less of the other 2. Being on a low-carb myself, I need everything to be higher in protein and fat to be less in the carb ratio. http://www.eatbalanced.com/why-eat-balanced/why-do-we-need-fat/
