One thing I like about paying for sessions versus just a flat monthly rate is that it keeps me consistent. I pay for 5 sessions a week, so come hell or high water I'll be there 5 times a week. I also get free access to the rest of the weights any time during the day, so I might see about supplementing some extra strength training sessions in the mornings.

But already getting flak from friends for going so often. My favorite is from my coworker, who was supposed to join at the same time I did, but he bailed at the last minute. And now he says he's "too busy" to join. Yet, he's the one who's mad at me because I didn't go out last night to happy hour (since I went to workout) and am not going out today (since I will be going to workout).

Looking forward to the weekend though. Hopefully it won't be too rainy, because I'd love to get one last long ride in.

Good for you for taking care of yourself! 5 times a week when you are mixing up strength and cardio is not that much. My friends have fallen into two camps: those who are trying to match me workout for workout, who invite me for long walks or bike rides and meals at healthy places OR those who just say "oh, you don't eat enough calories, you should not work out so much, oh it is too hard if you are (age, height, weight, have kids, have no kids, living with other people, living alone)! We might just have to get new friends.

Happy hour sounds like a recipe for derailing a diet.

I love my workouts and they keep me motivated and almost always in track with nutrition...I cheat at times but the weights and training keep me in the ballpark most days.

Haters going to hate. I bet he'll be even angrier when you meet your goals. Don't let him get you down, you'll soon be the one reaping the rewards!

Thanks for the support everyone! Super glad I went today, it was a super challenging workout. Loved it. And I won a month of free nutrition counseling from one of the nutritionists there! Will be interested to get her advice and macro plans.

You just keep doing you girl. Until I made workout time a priority over all the "I don't have time for that" excuses I didn't succeed. You are doing wonderful don't let others take you off your successful path.

Sounds like your co-worker is acting like a crab in a barrel...just wanting to pull you back in. I'll bet he's madder at himself than at you for not doing what he should have. he'll be okay. You just keep on doing you.
