Food is a passion for me and I love eating and creating. This used to work in my favor as when I created I was able to control what was going in. Unfortunately, 90% of my meals are now pre-prepared. This has happened because it is hard to cook for one, I am generally quite busy, and I have gotten lazy.

I was heavy into sports until half way through college. I did not change my eating and drinking habits to accommodate the new activity level; cue weight gain. I am well versed in nutrition and exercise and continue to read and learn. However, I have become a spectator, or a bad parent, do as I as not as I do.

I am another of the yo-yo dieters. I have participated in several of the more popular diets: Atkins, ABs, Velocity, Precision Nutrition. Using these and some other renditions I have cycled between strict diet and exercise, to just plain out neglecting my body. The trend tends to be: to get into good shape; maintain until I get lazy, or self destructive; neglect my body until I can't stand it; repeat.

I am now at my heaviest at 241lbs. and started a moderate diet Monday 11/14/11. Initially aiming for 1800 to 2100 calories, around 230g of protein, to keep my fats and carbs in separate meals. I have been using an excel sheet to monitor calories, protein, fat, carbs. When looking for calorie apps for my android I found this site and decided to give it a whirl.
