so,,, is it okay to stay on the amount of calories i'm consuming now?? will change happen soon or it will take longer than a week to notice the weight loss?? because this saturday i'm hoping to see weight loss on the scale even if just a little bit... for some reason and despite the weight gain i had,, i feel like i finally got the hang of it, and i know the basic things that i need to do to lose weight which is a good thing for me ...

although i'm still trying to have 3 meals daily, but it is a bit hard considering my university course schedule in which i have no breakfast because i sleep all morning , i eat lunch half an hour before my class,, and later right away to the gym and by the time i come back i'm too tired to eat anything, and i'm an all nighter kinda girl so i get hungry of course later at night but i know it is not good to eat after 9 pm because body tends to store fat and i don't want that,, so i keep drinking water all night. but i do manage to eat 20 g of net carbs, and i recently began to eat 1200 calories so i'm gonna try to have three meals daily (but does this really help with weight loss?)

Cireena, if you consume very little calories, your body will go into starvation mode and store more fat. You need to eat on a regular schedule. You don't have to eat 3 large meals a day. You could eat 5-6 small meals or healthy snacks. Hope that helps.

I agree 100% with rdkleiner. eat more often, healthy meals. I really don't think eating after 9 pm will affect your weight loss. if you're up all night, you need energy to keep going. your body would maybe store the calories if you were going to bed after a huge supper, but in your case you need to eat something. try to stick to a plan at least 2 weeks, it takes time to your body to adapt to a new diet. good luck!

From what I have read (I love to read studies and the latest nutrition news) there is very little effect from eating after 9pm--as long as what you're eating is healthy. The problem with late night eating isn't that you are eating late but that we usually tend to eat stuff that isn't good for us. But as long as you are eating a healthy meal I think you'll be fine. As for the calories, 1200 is pretty low. I mean, you might be fine but you'll probably do better if you mix up some higher and lower days. If you suddenly start eating 1200 cals a day you will probably get really hungry and you might get frustrated. Personally, I find that trying to eat as much whole grains and veggies as possible is the best tactic but sometimes it's hard if I'm running around or too busy to cook. So my back up plan is WW points.

I'm 5'3". I CAN loose when I'm as low as 1300 calories, but I loose MUCH better when I'm over 1500.
