I went to the doctor this morning (I think I'm experiencing an allergic reaction to the whey protein isolate that I just purchased, ugh) and she looked back on my chart and I weighed 217 lbs when I first visited her a little more than a year ago. I weighed in at her office this morning at 150.0. Cool. She then went to tell me that for my age and height this is probably a good weight to hang around. I didn't want to argue with her, but I'm looking to lose another 5% body fat.
When she left the room I had realized that I wasn't so concerned about the scale number as I was the body fat percentage. Cool.

whey makes me sick to my stomach, gives me "burps" and horrible gas pains.. and ive never had any issues with lactose (whey is a by product of milk). After some researching, I settled on a vegan protein powder (Vega) and almond milk.. all side effects gone.

It seems like it would be fine for you to weigh somewhat less. That would give you a buffer, a safe zone to keep your weight varying within so you wouldn't have to feel as if you were always on the edge of gaining the weight back. That could be helpful too if you think you might have children someday and would have to deal with weight gain during pregnancy. Of course, if you take your weight too low, it can interfere with conception. In any case, you're doing a great job and making thoughtful choices. Congrats!
