soooo I told my kids that in order to play with friends or go near a computer they have to bike around the neighborhood with me 4 times.... so they reluctantly went..... one was screaming that his butt hurt half way through and that his legs hurt.... the other was trying to prove something cause he was mad at me for making him go outside lol!!!! ...... butt hurt plays hockey and is not a strong skater and need the leg strength. ... the other LIVES on mind craft and hasn't seen the sun in what looks like 5 years. .. so I don't feel bad for making them suffer.....

since when is a bike ride a bad thing to a kid??? what's wrong with kids now? I LOVED going for long bike rides everyday with my grandpa. that was my favorite thing to do.... and now that I'm physically able to bring my kids... they hate it. :( ..... maybe they will learn to love it...

well, mr. computer is now passed out on the couch, butt hurt child left to play with friends and little one is having me play hockey....

atleast little man likes bike rides.... bike rides, hockey and ju4ice are his favorite things lol

Well I live in a pretty safe neighborhood.. we all know eachother and eachothers kids. and my street is a circle and all the kids HAVE to stay in the circle... no leaving the neighborhood. so I'm not really worried ... like husband and I were living in shady neighborhoods before but not here. so I let them roam. ....... I don't mind gaming, I like to, but he made it his entire life at 13. he doesn't do anything else... no job... no nothing... so I have to force him to leave the house. no man is an island and he needs to learn how to interact with others and learn when proving a point is no longer important. ........ we even said we would bring him to classes .. like guitar lessons or cooking classes or whatever! ... no reply. I don't get it.

I completely support you. I game because I have nothing else. He is still to young to be doing that. He has his whole life ahead of him.

Good job Mom. My 17 year old boys are perhaps too far gone. Get em now while you have a fighting chance. My bike, my BB gun, and my German Shepherd were my whole world when I was their age, but I was a country kid. City kids don't get that combo, which is probably for the best!

I grew up partly in the city, then we moved to the mountains of PA. Life in the mountains was SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!

That's great! Keep that up. Kids grow up so lazy now, with tech occupying all there time. Use that motivation as much as you can. congrats on that!

We biked and played tag and hide and seek, we made friends in the neighbourhood and walked and ran and played baseball and pretend games...and in my opinion, if we'd had the option of sitting in front of a screen playing really cool games with people across the planet...we'd have never seen the sun either ;-) The thing with the games is, they're REALLY COOL! My kids played them WAY too much, for a number of reasons that I don't want to get into here, but I wish I'd done it differently. Get their little asses outside, Hunter, and put up with the whining...it's so worth it :-) My sister had a GREAT rule with her kids...no gaming til sundown. We live in the north, so in the summer, it's light out til LATE, and they would simply have to find other things to do. In the winter, it's dark earlier, so more gaming...but they're not constantly underfoot in the house driving their mother insane. I thought it was brilliant...but she had the idea too late for me to incorporate it. Damn!

Haha I am a gamer girl myself. I gamed from 14-until 21 years old. I didnt fit in with the girls in college- I went to a fashion school. I was always into gaming, cars, motorcycles and art. But sadly gaming can become addicting. AN outlet. It was mine in college. But after I turned 21- lived in NYC and I was able to go out to pretty cool places. my gaming is now a minimum and I found so much other things to do in life that are more fun. Gaming is fun...but not as much fun as riding my motorcycle. :)
