Boo. How do I eat less than 600 kcal a day and gain? Ugh.
68.9 kg Lost so far: 6.4 kg.    Still to go: 1.7 kg.    Diet followed: 100%.

600kcals per meal @3 meals/day is 1800 calories, pretty good target for most folks.

@Caterpillar2Butterfly did you just say exercise is not good for weight loss??? Yes you can exercise and lose weight.

You don't lose weight through exercise, it's good for the body and overall health, but it's not how you lose weight, weight loss happens in the kitchen. Exercise can make it more difficult to lose weight because it makes your body burn energy more efficiently, the more efficient your engine, the less fuel it needs.

Hey Kpp.... i'm not doing 5:2, just LCHF with 18:6 IF. But I have had the exact same results lately that you have. 3 days of under 1000 cals and red arrows, then one 2000 cal day and a green arrow. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!?! I am going to try to keep my calories back to around 1300-1500 and see if I can steady this ish out. Love, love, love that we can all share and learn from each other here. But thinking that I really need to start doing some more reading/learning on my own. xoxo

^^ this, George. It also raises cortisol (which stores fat) if you go over board with it. I'm not saying don't exercise. I'm saying exercise smartly.

It's a good point Laura. As you know, I'm participating in a spike night once a week (every 7-14 days). I think it is still in the 'let me try this out' process. I like the LCHF and I'm keeping my kcal consistently low in my attempt to tap into my food storage more. I think there is more going on internally and it's not reflecting on the scales so much. Probably just need to give it time.

Anyone says that you do not lose weight with exercise is dead wrong and it's a completely ridiculous thing to claim. Exercise does NOT make it harder to lose weight, Are you kidding me? Look at marathon runners - do they look like they have a problem storing FAT???? Look at soccer players do they look fat? Basketball, swimmers, cyclist???? Unbelievable how many flat out stupid opinions being put up on this site. FACT - you can lose weight exercising. FACT - exercising will help you burn calories and FAT. FACT - muscles burn more calories even when at rest. No - You don't have to exercise to lose weight but to say it doesn't help and makes it harder is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. You think weight lifters eating over 4000 calories a day can maintain their form without exercising? If their engines are more efficient then why are they eating 4000 calories a day? When I wrestled I had under 7% body fat and ate 4k calories a day why didn't my engine need less fuel????

You obviously don't understand what's being said, Jorge Loco, it's not that you can't lose weight with exercise, it's that you can't lose weight through exercise alone. You should really work on your comprehension skills before you go calling others stupid.

@phil - this is what was said you should shut your mouth and read. "exercise is great for health & building muscle, just not so much for weight loss.." Then you said "you don't lose weight through exercise...but it's not how you lose weight" YOU need to learn how to read your own posts. YOU need to comprehend what YOU wrote.

Jorge Loco, I am not even going to begin dissecting your horrible angry comment. You have VERY badly confused the information in your comment. And I highly doubt you have even the most rudimentary understanding of how the metabolism or endocrine system work. Please, refrain from spreading Gym Bro nonsense in here. We have too many people whom have worked VERY hard to achieve the loses they make. And those of us who know how it works are trying to UN teach them the bad information that people like you keep trying to pound into their heads. So, you go and kill yourself in the gym. Let the natural easy weight loss to those who have bothered to understand how the body works. If you are TRUELY interested, ask Phil or myself. We can TEACH you how it REALLY works. And if you don't believe my words, believe my weight loss. As well as Phils 200 Pounds lost. Or don't. Up to you Gym Bro.

KP hunny, you know the deal. you know how the Gym bro mentality works. And you know how almost 7 decades of bad information have deceived the masses about Metabolic damage and starvation. Just keep doing what you are doing. Phil and I are PROOF OF CONCEPT. And that is exactly why I issued the challenge. To PROVE what I preach is TRUTH!!!!

You DON'T need exercise to lose weight. Your body will burn fat just fine without it. And Phils 200+ weight loss? Done without working out. My 80+?? No exercise. And trust me when I say, I lose more weight WITHOUT exercise than I did WITH it. I was a strong man for almost 11 years. I know about lifting amigo. I believe your approach was what triggered some anger. Try to be a little less hostile and you will be received with less hostility in return.
