Today is my fasting day. I do 5:2 fasts. So today is a low calorie day. I also fast every Saturday. I used to consume high fat on these days. But now my 550 aloted calories are of fruit and veg only. I'm loving this new diet.

What is most striking I the scale completely stopped going up, and is going down. I don't care that it takes a little while to lost. Today is Day 12 and I've already lost 4 lbs. The foods that I eat now make me feel so good inside. I used to eat HIGH fat with no real nutrition to my body. But today's fast I am having it in two parts. First part of the day 3 frozen bananas, spinach, and blue berries. I have the same tonight but with just 2 bananas. Of course with a bit of organic coconut sugar. Its perfect with almost three cups of water. And since the bananas are frozen to start the drink is ice cold!

Looking at that, I don't see delicious yummy smoothie. I see Glucose spike then insulin spike then feeling ill for the rest of the day.

I'm kind of with KTMM on this. If it works for you great! I don't think the insulin spike with that few calories, I could do. Hey, just sayin!

Yum! When it warms up a bit more I'll be putting together some smoothies, add in some raspberries and use coconut water...can't wait :) Using whole foods just makes you feel well, doesn't it?

Knuckles LOL, LOVE IT. Its a fasted day. Obviously not literally as I take in nutrition. But for my low calorie day this is so good! Seriously I feel great. YouTube Freelee the banana girl. You'll see what I mean! BECCA P Yes, I look forward to coconut water that sounds so good.

Her and I are mortal enemies. We don't see eye to eye on what we consider FOOD. lol See, I wont hesitate to eat things with FACES. lol Besides, I have a high insulin problem if I eat any kind of fruit. Im sure its not an issue having been SUPER low carb for almost 44 days now. Or less of an issue anyway. I envy you people who can eat fruit and still lose weight.

Oh sorry Knuckles, please don't get me wrong I am eating a vegetarian life style but I on occasion eat animal protein. O' yes. And I am sure I would be demonized for claiming strive towards vegetarian while eating me some pot roast [had that two nights ago.]. I like her passion, and her enthusiasm. But I am not able to take my diet her extreme. I do like her, and she definitely is outspoken. But truthfully some of what she says has resonated with me and I am eating plant based in part do to her message. But I am with you, no I won't eat the face..lol, but I do eat from the animal kingdom! For sure.

Knuckles I did low carb for two years, lost 50 lbs but it was HARD I craved carbs so bad and in the end I slowly gained back 30 of the 50. So I jumped shipped to HCLF.

Oh MAN that looks so good Deborah!! I use frozen bananas in my smoothies too - makes em wonderfully creamy doesn't it? It's still a little cool here to start smoothes yet but I'll be dragging out the blender soon. I know that for me fresh fruit and veggies didn't make me fat. Sugar and the "whites" did. I eat a lot of fruit particularly in the summer and still lose. It's when I get a little happy with extra "treats" like ice cream and cookies that my weight totally stalls. I'm so glad you're feeling really good!

Ohhhh by all means, I am VERY happy that its working for you. I just cant do the sugars. I am not diabetic in any way. Its the INSULIN that would do me in. When I am eating carbs, I cant NOT be hungry all the time. I HAD to eat. And it spiked my insulin making me unable to burn fat. I just stored it for years. I gained 150 lbs in 8 years. Now I struggle to lose it all again. That's why I can do the Fasting. I eat enough fat that I am NEVER hungry. So fasting for 16 hours, even 24 or more is a BREEZE for me now. On carbs? I could make it MAYBE 10 hours without getting EXTREMELY bad headaches. Or severe cramping.

Vickie, I left low carb, high fat and though that didn't make me fat I didnt take in much nutrition espceacially on days when I only had fat coffee for the day. This is way better. And yes, frozen bananas are best. I don't add ice anymore now that I freeze them the day before I use them. I am feeling SO good, its nice to know I'm not alone. To be honest I never in my life thought I would venture towards eating mainly plant foods. I ate meat, and cheese and pizza. My cravings to my SHOCK are gone, I think about them but the need to eat them is replaced by wanting my fruit! I love this. Its still so new but so very exciting!!

Knuckles I do fasting too. DOing 5:2 right now. I was doing 20:4, but that didn't make an impact with weight loss. So I am back to 5:2. Today and then again on Saturday. :)
