8hunter6's Journal, 25 Apr 16

I'm a little annoyed to be honest..... the bits of advice I get from people by no means "saved me". I am the only one who can really take credit for my behavior, good or bad. someone told me about LCHF. I chose to do it... I did it in a way my body DIDN'T like. ... my fault.... I wanted to eat more vegetables and added a bunch of fruit... better for MY heart? ya probably. do I really need science to tell me that's the way to go? no. I knew there was a lot of sugar in fruit but I wanted it. didn't lose a pound. my fault. so I've reorganized my plan... I did.... no one wrote it for me. I am the one who wakes up and decides what I do and how I do it and I take responsibility and credit for what I do. so if one more person tries to say they did this for me?? I'm going to snap. unless I am kidnapped and force fed with a funnel, no one has the right to say they chose for me........ I agree with some information I've seen.... some I dont. I'm not going to argue with anyone else's decisions. .. know why? THEY ARE YOUR DECISIONS! every single person here makes their own choices. this can be both scary and very empowering! do not give your power to someone who claims to have "taken you under their wing" I HAVE POWER OVER MYSELF! all of you have the same power over yourself! I have read articles and books and all that jazz... I have information what I do with that is my choice. if anyone's advice rings true from what I've read? cool. great. wonderful. I still choose. I still decide. I still dictate my own life. .... and before anyone asks... no this isn't about one specific person. I've had a few who have tried to tell me what to do and try to "save" me. to these people? ... save yourself.

there is a big difference from offering information on your plan and another from trying to shove it in my face and tell others about how I'd die without them. or try and tell me how much I need them or some shit....... red flag for me is when you have to tell me how important you are in my life.. fyi...

amen to what you're saying! i agree that there've been some unbelieveably pushy people around here lately trying to force their way on others. that's not what this site is for! wow, really sent you pm's taking credit for your loses?? no way, you are responsible for your own losses or gains. own it girl!

I agree with Mom2. When I post comments with suggestions, I try my best to report my own experience or something I may have read about someone else's. Ask questions instead of telling someone they are "doing it wrong." I probably am not perfect at this! You got a huge number of responses on your post when you were trying to figure out why nothing seemed to be working - an almost overwhelming amount. We've got a lot of people on here who really want to help and I wonder how much of that is part of our weight problem - because we're always taking care of others and not ourselves. In one of Dr. Atkins' books he said he wanted you to take his information and suggestions and create a way of eating that was "Atkins and I" to find what you like and can live with on your journey. In another one he said that if you find you don't like low carb, do some other diet but please do your health a favor and lose your excess weight. If the Dr. who helped so many can drop his bias I think others can learn to do the same. No one should be saying anybody did anything because he/she said they should, and if they think it through they'll realize that could not possibly be the case unless they had the person tied up and force fed them.

I didn't think it was me, but it's always good to make sure. I've given my own plan some rethinking lately, and I know I haven't always taken criticism of LCHF very well, but I've really reached a point where I don't really advocate for LCHF, it's something that's worked for me, but that's me, and everyone else needs encouragement to find their own way, regardless of what that plan ultimately ends up being. It shouldn't be a division of cults, we're all working towards getting better, and that's what's important.

mom2boxer.. so many ways to lose weight! and each person is different in what they can tolerate. I support whatever way because I support people's free will to chose for themselves.

Lol yes track... I was overwhelmed and couldn't respond to everyone. today my toddler is being calm and just trying to feed me pretend food but normally he wants me to play hockey and I can't keep up with posts. ...... so many really want to help. I think it's sewn like learning... they say you don't really know anything until you are able to teach it, or something like that ha ha ..... taking care of others and not myself is a huge issue in my house. I'm sure that goes for others here like you said.

phil you're going to change things up??? and hey! that diet helped you a lot. it's hard to bite the hand that feeds. I get that. .... but ya I'm taking that rout.. Ill say what I do but I'm not going to tell anyone what to do and I'll only say to look at what I've done if they sound disheartened. .... agreed, no cults!! we are people generally going for the same goal.

I'll be one year on low carb come June 14, so far I've lost over 200 pounds, by the time I hit my one year mark I doubt if I have anything left to lose so I'll have to adjust. I really want to get about twenty pounds below what might be ideal so I have some wiggle room, just in case.

pan, I say responsibility is scary at first because we realize how powerful our choices really are...but once we are done being scared things will get better :D ....... I gonna make myself a motivational poster or something lol...... right now I have a unicorn on a therapist chair and the dr saying "you need to believe in yourself" ha ha ha I keep that next to my weight charts and plans

I'm sure we can get them on. Not sure about me walking in them though. I don't know if they are built to hold my weight right now!
