Happy Hump Day Everyone!!

After trying every diet practically on the market I decided to just count calories. I'm confused about everything else so when I have the calories down pat I'll try to figure out carbs and fat etc... I think previously I would overwhelm myself trying to figure out EVERYTHING at once. It all got too confusing so I gave up.

How many calories, carbs, fat, protein, fiber, sugar, salt etc should I be eating??

I think it's no wonder people give up. You can't keep it all straight.

So one thing at a time. :)

Last night I was bad and had hubby's macaroni casserole. And lots of it. But it was good.

I'll be good for the rest of the week I promise.. hehe

I agree, I think people jump in all excited and try to change everything at once then it gets overwhelming so they quit. I started with journaling my food every day, everything I ate. That was a huge eye opener! LOL Then after losing about 15 pounds I started exercising, mainly walking around our neighborhood a few times a week. That was about 4 months later, so one day at a time.

Agreed :-) I focus on salt and sugar intake. It was kinda hard at first but I've found healthier alternatives to all my face foods (even chips and salsa!) and it seems to be working for me. Actually, with the counting salt instead of calories, I usually have to have a dessert or snack after dinner to put me at or above 1200 calories. Go figure right? Lol but eating chocolate chip cookies and still losing weight can't be all bad, right? Lol  
When I first started here I counted calories. Then out of the blue I was told I ate too many carbs. I tried to county calories and carbs and it made me nauseas from stressing out. So I count calories and watch the carbs. I know some do well on low carbs diets but I can't do it. It's not a matter of will power its a matter of sanity and well being. We are all different. My body rebelled big time. My mind is already challenged. Oy is all I can say. Okay spill the beans what chips for salsa are the healthy alternative?

I am just getting into the swing of things! IT IS CONFUSING! I have spent the past 3-4 days on here just reading on different things that have worked for people! for now, i am counting calories and watching carbs and sugars along with just trying to just eat the RIGHT foods and not chips and cookies and all that stuff i used to LOVE! I am looking for a gym to counter the calories. so thats starting soon! but really, i think just watching what you are eating and making sure its not "junk" and exercise will go a long way. at least im hoping. ill let you know ;) haha
