Had a fantastic diversion last night... went dress shopping w/ my daughter for her wedding. She got measured and her dress ordered. And Mom tried on a few options! :)

She thinks I look great in everything...what a nice daughter! A few of them made me look 10 yrs older... and a few made me look like I wished I was 25 again...which I don't! :)

But I think we found a 'style'... sweetheart neckline, strapless w/ a crop style jacket or bolero... probably tea length... I will keep looking, but I liked that type alot.

I don't want to 'outshine' the bride - as a matter of fact, I would wear whatever, doesn't matter to me... but she is considering asking ME to walk her down the aisle!!! (very long story...but she is from my first marriage/divorce) ... She wants my husband NOW (her stepdad) to actually perform the ceremony and marry them! And doesn't want her real dad to walk w/ her. They are not that close. Although he will be there.

Anyway... if she decides to go this route... all her/and his attendants ALL of them... are men. Her brothers, his brothers, best friends... men. And they will all be in black tux's. So, if she decides to ask me to walk w/ her... which I would be honored... I told her I would like to wear a blk/white gown. That would make my selection process actually 100 times easier.. as that is THE most common 'special occasion' color combo available on the market.

Time will tell... She's got a lot of time to figure it out!

As for my tests... still waiting... but loved the diversion regardless. Think I will look for some blk/white dresses today anyway. It will give me something to do :)

Eating/Water/Exercise... all on course yesterday. And heading out to the gym after taking the bug to school. Have a great day... back later.

Much Love.

Glad you found some nice options. Some of those Mother of the Bride outfits look more like Tea Party at the Nursing Home garb.

What a lovely way to spend the day, doing anything with your daughter but wedding dress stuff is especially nice - I have that to look forward too. And what a lovely idea, that you may be walking her down the aisle. How lovely. Hope 'we' get those test results soon - lol!

Your entry warmed my heart...I walked my daughter down the aisle when she married. Her daddy(my husband)was deceased so paternal Grandma and I gave her away...it was a very special and joyful moment for all of us. We had a black and white BEAUTIFUL wedding...so elegant and SIMPLE. Enjoy these moments...they really only come once in a lifetime.

That sounds really nice. My Grandparents raised me and I had no Dad other than my Grandfather. he died about 2 months prior to my wedding. I had to walk myself down the isle. I don't recommend that :) Having you there to do it would really be a nice touch for her and for you. Sounds like a wonderful day.

What a great way to spend the day, & lots of fun to try on different styles too. When she decides what she really wants you will be that much farther ahead in the long run. The wedding will be gorgeous no matter what! Hope you hear great news today.

Paula, what fun dress shopping, my daughter got married May 2010, I just wish I had been slim, why didn't I find this site then. She had black and white for her wedding. Two adult bridesmaids in black, maid of honour black and white, then the four small bridesmaids were in a mix of the black and a touch of the black and white, they all looked beautiful, very elegant Audrey Hepburn style. It is such fun, she wanted me to be her matron of honour, I was so honoured but didn't want to do it because of my weight...how sad is that. So nice to have something so wonderful to look forward to. You aren't going to be embarrassed how you look, you are going to feel fantastic. Love & {{{HUGS}}}
