most would say once a week. Just pick one day to weigh in consistently. This is helpful especially for those who tend to freak out when thei WI. Fluctuations in weight occur often -- this is mainly due to water weight and the fact that we experience changes as our body is readjusting - common following loss of body mass.
Others are able to weigh in daily -- without the challenges of freaking out. They accept that they may be down one day and up another - (due to the fluctuations) - and they're okay with that. Their scale is not under any threat of being flung out of a two-story window to crash upon the driveway below.
So, in all, it just depends on you. If you begin by weighing in daily you can monitor your progress. It is kind of exciting to see you two pound drop in a matter of 2-3 days, and often even more drastic WL starting out. But if you feel yourself wanting to "Go Postal" and take vengenace on the scale, back off to once per week. Best wishes!
