ShyGuy's Journal, 26 Sep 11

I'm down 4 lbs, since last week, inspite of a flubb yesterday. I accepted a plate of bbq rib tips, from my neighbor, and realized while eating it, that she uses a sweet bbq sauce, and also puts a bit of sugar in her greenbeans. That was potentially dangerous, but at least I traded the mac and cheese off to my sister, and followed it with a lot of water. I guess it's better to do your own cooking, that way you know, without a shadow of a doubt, what you are getting. I'm happy for the 4 lb loss, as it puts me closer to reaching my first weight loss goal, and a step closer to setting the next one. HooRaah! Yesterday, I bought some spaghetti squash, and will be trying it, in a couple of days. There are a lot of veggies, on the acceptable list, that I've never tried before, and it's by trying, and hopefully liking them, that will keep my low carb eating interesting and exciting; there's also some meats I haven't eaten yet, or in a while, either so that will be fun also. :)

Thanks Gigi. I know we shouldn't compare ourselves to others, but when I first came on here, and became buddys with Yvonne19, I noticed that she's lost a lot of weight, over the past 8 months. My goal and hope, was to try and mimic those types of numbers over the coming year; it gave me the hope that I could do the same. With the help and encouragement of you, and my other buddies, and by remaining steadfast in my efforts, inspite of the occasional trip up now and then; I know I can get this weight off, and will do everything I can, to make it happen, in a healthy way.

You're doing great!!! Even if it is only 1/2 lb, it is a loss and needs to be celebrated.

ShyGuy - Just a tip - I stir fry my (cooked) spaghetti squash with sausage, peppers and onion. Out of this world! Congrats on the 4 lbs.

Thanks buffyBear, but don't you have to bake or boil it first to loosen the strands, so that it can be stir fried? Also thanks to davidsmom, and you for the words of encouragement.

Yes, I cook it first (boil or bake) and then use it in the stir fry. The leftovers freeze well (if you feel like being thrifty).
