So I can fit into my kiteboarding board shorts. Thank you for this. It helped me re-purpose why I'm on here.

To show my kids what a healthy life style is and to be able to see them grow up. I do everything in life with my kids in mind.

my mother and brother have type II diabetes and watching them suffering and trying to find balance in their blood sugar every single minute of the day is scary. So yes, I am dieting to live the life i dreamed about which is free of constant medications and doctor visits

Wow I totally identify with this. Feeling very old and sorry for myself lately that so much of my life was wasted. 46 and single and starting all over and with a 9 year old. It really sucks. The alternative is worse of course being in a bad situation. But fifteen years of my life was spent that way. So I think part of me feels like if I get in shape I will somehow recapture that happiness of being young and single etc and free. I guess we'll see. In any case I'll be healthier and that is most important of all. :)

Because I grew up as an overweight child and teenager. Now I want to look in the mirror and be able to say I've come a long way. Plus it feels good to eat healthy. :)

For my health, to fit in my clothes, to prove to myself I can do it, and because I know I will feel better all over.

So I can have a healthy next pregnancy and try for a VBAC instead of surgery again. I feel the better shape my body and mind are in, the more likely it will be successful and less painful and strenuous on both.

For me, it came down to wanting to ensure that the person on the outside matched the person on the inside - emotionally, physically, mentally. The closer I get, the more self-sustaining this process becomes, the more determined I feel, and the more passionate I am about shouting to the world that there is nothing more important, and nothing LESS selfish - than taking care of yourself.
