CatHerder's Journal, 10 Sep 15

I was awoken by a furry cat sniffing my arm. Kind of startled me but I know it shouldn't with all the cats we have. I guess I was in a light sleep during that time. Unfortunately I couldn't get back to sleep so I got up after lying in bed for half an hour.

I did make it to the gym earlier than my normal time. As a matter of fact it was right when they opened, I was the second member in the door. I really pushed my core exercises increasing from 15 reps/set to 20 reps/set. I also increased the weight on the machines I use for core (lower back and abs). It was a good workout and plenty tiring.

I also started taking citrulline malate to see if it has any effect on me. One difference I did notice was I got lightheaded once I got home. That could have simply been from working out fasted and being hungry. I have been hungry most of the day which is becoming a new norm for me. Every couple of days I get rather hungry. I still try to stay within my calorie limit. I try to eat more solid protein to fill me up. I think I need some more fibrous vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli. I'm currently out of those items and have been eating mostly lettuce and tomatoes.

Tomorrow's goal is to run 6.5 miles. Hopefully it won't be raining. Either way I won't melt so unless we have thunderstorms I'll be out.

Have a great day everybody!

Light-headedness could have been because you were short of sleep? It's funny about the hunger, I'm rarely very hungry nowadays, even on fast days. However this last couple of days I've been eating more, to try and boost my metabolism so that intermittent fasting will work, and today I've been ravenous. Presumably my body expected to be fed again! I'm taking it as a good sign ☺

I agree, you could have been lightheaded from lack of sleep, or... maybe dehydration. In any case, I'm sure you will figure out why. Your workouts are amazing; you inspire me to do more.,

I know CM is recently touted for helping ATP and endurance, right? Have you noticed a change with the creatine?

Hi HCB. I think I'm getting a bigger initial push from the creatine. It could just be "beginner gains" but I'm still adding weight to some of my lifts. I don't expect anything from it on the running side as it's only impact is on the first 60 sec of anaerobic exercise. It might help when I start doing all out sprints. The Citrulline Malate is supposed to help with endurance. I've only been taking it for two days but those two workouts seemed easy. Could be a placebo effect but I really didn't know what to expect. I'll keep taking it for a while and see if I keep getting a boost from it.
