ZenusWarriorPrincess's Journal, 30 Jul 23

Good morning, FS WARRIORS!!! 💜 ✨️ I hope EVERYONE is doing well. I have a few NSV's to share. NSV #1: So... there is CHOCOLATE cake in the fridge (yesterday was my DIL BD & her parents made it for her). The hubby had a piece with his coffee this morning as I only drank my plain black coffee (anyone who knows me & my journey knows that ANYTHING chocolate is normally my #1 weakness). I sat and drank my coffee while he enjoyed his cake with ZERO temptation or cravings. Like my buddy, Debra says, I would normally have the urge to knock him in the head & take it! 🤣 THAT'S ONE of the main reasons I, personally, choose to do keto/carnivore. After getting well adapted, willpower becomes a non-issue. Some say it is a deprived WOE, but it feels like it is kind of the opposite. I would rather not indulge at all & have no cravings/temptation than have to fight with myself every minute of every hour of every day. To each their own! Anyway... NSV #2: I was a 2-3x shirt size when I restarted my journey 9.5 weeks ago (I wish I would have taken measurements in the beginning!). Yesterday, I was able to fit into a "large" shirt that I bought a few months ago, for whatever reason other than it was on sale. 🤪 I thought it was a fluke, so I scoured through some of my old clothes this morning until I found a "large." IT FIT! I'm still in disbelief & will have to go to the store & try on some more to be convinced, though. NSV #3: As I was going through my old clothes, I came across my old favorite pair of capris (size 14 W). So, I HAD to try them on as well. What do ya know?? THEY FIT & COMFORTABLY! Down from a size 18W - 20W. NSV #4: I just simply feel ALOT better. No trouble getting out of bed in the mornings, my depression/anxiety is gone, my foot pain is gone, my menopausal hot flashes & night sweats are gone. I should have listed #4 first because that's the best one of all! 😁 Anywhooo... I hope you ALL have a spectacular Sunday! 😘

such exciting NSV!! So proud of you!! I feel you on the chocolate 🍫! I was angry with my hubby for bringing home pizza once as I'm angrily chewing on ribeye... You are lucky to just let that go! Before I knew I had eating disorder, I COULD NOT let go of chocolate. Meals were completely carnivore. I would go 2/3 days of no chocolate, then binge on 3-5 XL symphony bars..... rinse and repeat. I still went from 220 to 169 despite that. The moment my toxic mother said something about my weight loss, I'd binge. "must be nice to lose all that even when when you stuff your face" it's so crazy, I'm eating the complete opposite of carnivore and managed to actual lose my intense food obsessions, yet I'm also addressing my trauma and healing, which is probably the source of my issues with chocolate... *thanks mooom* Can't wait to go thru old clothes I have and see what will fit! Keep it up! you are doing great! Super inspirational testimony! Carnivore has so many advantages, perfect elimination diet! Do you plan on testing a non-carnivore food and see how you respond in the future?(I think recommended timeline was 1-2 months?) i knew one carnivore who introduced mushrooms and his thoracic back pain came back. I added in tomatos and was fine, but broccoli gave me gut pain (understandably, considering fiber)

That's the healthy mindset. Good job. However, if at all possible get that temptation out of the house.

Happy dance for you!!! You are killing it Zen, LOL, I keep calling you Zen, I know your name is Jen, but Zen sounds so much cooler....and calmer 😍 Those are all great NSVs! The one about the chocolate cake is the best one to me......I'm 5 years Post Menopause so the flashes/sweats are behind me! It's a beautiful thing when your SO is smacking and slurping some chocolate oooey gooey something or other and you are not sitting there smiling at him while inside your brain you are planning to drop an anvil on his head and take off with the goodies. That is soooooo freeing! Awesome Sister!

@Dazey... Thanks! I had alot of trauma from childhood as well, but I forgave the people involved, not for them...but for me. Someone once said, "Holding on to anger is like holding on to a hot coal & expect someone else to get burned." There is still alot going on AROUND me, but I try to separate myself from all of it. Good on you for being able to break your addiction! I'm proud of you as well! As far as adding things back, IDK. We will see. I might just look at having a salad or LC veggies as having a cheat day, if I don't have a bad response to it...lol.
