The only thing that seems to make me have a bowel movement is when I eat a little salt, like 1/4 tsp., then within an hour, start drinking water. It will make me go ~4-5 times in 2 hours, then stops. I do not otherwise seem able to have a bowel movement and no amount of laxatives does anything without it. I also seem to be craving parmigiano cheese, which has sodium, but also calcium. I think it's the saltiness I am craving, though; do not know why.
No idea why this seems to be the case. I take all my IBS meds as I am told to by the doctor. Am wondering if maybe I am lacking the sodium, but won't know without having a level done. Some of my meds eat up sodium, and my thyroid issues make me process it faster.
