It's most likely easier for me than most to stick to a diet/ lifeplan than most people when I motivate myself to it. I have very few social situations and those involve activities, not food, such as races. I don't cook for someone who wants something I shouldn't eat for the most part and I am not tempted by workplace goodies because I work at home. I can keep taboo foods out of the house because I do all the shopping. I admire and have boundless respect for all you people that fight those battles every day and still manage to lose weight and get fitter. I cannot imagine how you do it. So here's a big pat on the back for all of you. Rock on!

Amen to that...I really admire all these moms who have to have goodies around for the kids AND stay on plan. My lifestyle is very similar to yours (except for the racing (">

The way I look at it, that tempting food exists and anyone can get it if they want it. Building up a sort of immunity to sweet treats and potato chip temptations is what I am working on. Not perfect yet, but I am doing pretty well on that front. :) Nicholaix, you keep doing what you are doing as it certainly works for you! :)

Nicholaix give yourself more credit. It takes work to do things the way you do

We know you your life is not just a bowl of cherries. For example, think how much easier it would be if you did not have to avoid coconut or dairy? Not to mention the stress of caring for those two boys (and as they get closer to their teenage years, the stress level with rise exponentially). Like dialla says, give yourself some credit.

Definitely give yourself a lot of credit!! And just graduating with a college degree with all you do!!! It's definitely easier not having to worry about a spouse or lots of eating away from home. I also fit into being able to control foods as I eat at home 99% of the time or take my lunch to work. I don't understand when Mom's think they have to keep all kinds of goodies around for the kids. Mine had healthy choices, fruits, fruit juices, veggies, some cookies etc made with whole grains. Very little sugar and chips were only bought to make occasional taco salad or nachos. No soda at all. My girls still eat very little sugar and deserts at their homes are for holidays and birthdays.
