Even without physical limitations, weight loss is won in the kitchen, not the gym. Nevertheless, it's wise to sometimes go with the flow, just don't get swept away by it completely 😊 Have a happy Easter!

Good luck! Olive garden has their menu with calories online, so you could figure out what you want in advance if you like, so nobody knows you're counting

No one will force you to clean your plate. Take a few bites and then push it aside and have a great conversation. Trim & fit people never eat the entire serving in restaurants.

While it's true that restaurants serve oversized portions because they don't want people walking out hungry, I think more than a few bites is fine, especially on a special occasion 😊 It's one thing to be hungry before meals, but not so good to be hungry afterward. You'll have to judge how moderate you need to be and balance it out elsewhere. Last time I ate at a Thai restaurant, I ate the tofu and veggies with only a small bit of the rice, and left most of the rice behind. There's often a starchy filler that you can not eat. And yes -- restaurant menus online! I'm always perusing those before I eat out. Whatever you do, don't sweat it too much. Have fun! 😃

Olive Garden has some decent choices imo. I don’t eat prepared food often but the salmon meal or grilled Parmesan aren’t very high in calories. I don’t like the sodium bit for the occasional meal out they have become my go to.

Lots of trim and fit people do eat the entire serving in restaurants. I know many, and I’ve seen some posts of some fit people on here that do as well. Some of the guys I know not only eat their own meal, but also whatever their kids leave as well! Usually absolute statements that say something “always” or “never” happens can be ignored as they tend to not be true. Enjoy your meal however you decide to handle it!

Thank you all for the support.
I spoiled myself with the breadsticks. Soup and salad were great. Our friend called me later crying saying how happy she was that we went and helped her run a few errands. She hadn't been to Walmart in 6 years. If I'm honest it was nice to have someone who walked slower than me. Eating a few extra carbs and having her happy was worth it. She's 86 and all her family lives in other states. Over all it was a great Easter Sunday.
