update on my progress: So...my diet is no longer the modified Daniel Fast (based on the man Daniel in the Bible) since I've lost the majority of my weight last year. I have been slowly going down in weight, but now I am not as meticulous as I used to be when I was trying to lose the first 20-30 pounds. Now, I typically maintain the fruits and vegetables throughout the week, and only eat meats, cheese, breads, and sweets whenever I am at a party or gathering. I also began to walk from the parking lot (at my university) instead of taking the shuttle, and began to take the stairs every time.. sometimes purposely running up or down instead of walking them. I also began riding my bike around the neighborhood and walking/running with my sister's dogs. This combination has been the biggest success on my weight loss journey. I've found that now, I do not constantly think about food nor do I crave a lot of the junk I used to regularly munch on. I sometimes succumb to the snack machine (when I have no time in between classes) but those occasions are very rare nowadays. Although I've been progressing at this rate, it doesn't take 2 years to lose 40 pounds.. I was at my comfortable weight last year, I just wanted to add muscle tone and then my foot injury put me back a little bit (I think I gained maybe 7 solid pounds in the 2 months that I was in a cast) but today I took the first big step to get back on track... I rode my bike about 3 miles ~ I haven't had my foot x-rayed the second time yet but I know God is my Healer and that's how it happened =)

That's awesome! Love how your faith comes through in everything. You're an inspiration. Hope there's no residual pain in the foot and that you can stay active for the rest of the summer. Keep walking with God sister! -Art
