So back to my coworker who doesn’t think I need to lose weight, he knows he needs to lose weight, and for a little bit there he was doing quite well and I was helping him out. He cut out all added sugar from his diet, so what happened yesterday, would have never happened then. When he did that he lost like 12 pounds.
So yesterday when I told him I can’t believe you’re eating all that, it’s so many calories and you’re going to be a real hurting puppy come January 1. (He plans on cutting sugar again as a new year resolution) I suggested he should ease his way into it so it’s not so bad with like the sugar withdrawals, and he says that he is going to stuff his face from now until midnight on the 31st.
I just don’t get that mentality. You don’t have to wait to for some arbitrary day to be, OK, I can make myself a better person now. Why make it harder for yourself by eating all of this crap and gaining even more weight and becoming even more used to eating sugar? Just do it now. New year resolutions are the worst.
He apparently gained at least 15 back btw.

Ok so just drop it with him - men have different mindsets, I bet he's eating more because you talk with him about it. I don't get a lot of what people decide to do, even myself.

Weight and weight loss are SUCH divisive topics! Don't worry about him! Only what you can do for yourself! I have had a coworker bug me about sending her the app that helped me (FS). I was busy and sort of forgot. But also, I ignored it for a bit because several others have asked the same, but no follow up. When she asked me the 3rd time, I sent a screenshot of the app. ..... and yes, since that day - no follow up. I mean, maybe she joined up, but I can assure you, she hasn't mentioned it again to me! So, people WANT to be on board, but when push comes to shove and they actually have to do the work...... crickets..... Just be supportive and available for discussion if he brings it up again, otherwise, he's on his own! Sorry, just my opinion- take it or leave it!

My wife is similar. She had to get every last tasty meal in before we began our 100 day cut this past February. BTW, cutting out sugars was very painful for the first 5 days. I would get headaches and nausea midday but it got better. After 30 days, I felt no cravings. After 60 days I started looking a bit different. After 90 days the positive questions and comments began. You can change a lot in 3 months if you stick with it. There will always be haters though. You just need to ignore them.
