We had our annual Thanksgiving party at work today. Catered, lovely, but the only healthy things to eat were the turkey and garden salad (healthy meaning not exploding with added sugars, sky-high sodium, and saturated fat).
I didn't bust my butt this summer in lowering my cholesterol levels to start backsliding at the kick-off of holiday parties, so I just ate like a reasonable vegan: big garden salad dressed with vinegar and a single glass of pinot noir*. Calories stayed in check and I'm satiated since the salad was chock full of fiber and nutrients. I feel good about my choice. I work with mostly thin colleagues, and everyone had the salad. I think the people who were doing IF and OMAD were more challenged than me today.
* Being California, offices are fairly loose about wine & booze during work hours. My line of business is probably more accepting and generous than average, though.🍾🍷🥂
