RN16's Journal, 20 Sep 22

I think I may still track, because it helps me to know where my protein is at, but I just need to get it out my head as long as I'm eating healthy balanced meals, I don't need to stay at a specific calories. I'm not saying eat as many calories I want, but it just needs to be balanced meals. The hard part is the days I work we don't get a lunch, so those days I can only balance breakfast and dinner

Take nibble food with you to eat when and if you can. Carry a broken up granola bar in a baggie close by to sneak a piece of when you can. Keep things with you that will help keep you from getting so hungry that you eat anything that’ not nailed down. It’s hard when there are no lunch days, but they can be worked around if you plan ahead.

ya, I take a protein bar, protein drink and I pack a lunch. Most days I'm able to go and literally scarf down my food real quick, but some days I don't have time to if I get EMS back to back and have a lot of critical pts.

RN 16– in my department we could not have drinks in the room— I was lucky to keep my little bag of broken Nature Valley Granola bar in my scrub jacket pocket. When we needed a drink we had to call someone to bring us a cup and straw, take a sip or two and move on—- then hopesome one could relieve you to go pee once in a while.

@ Kenna Morton, yes. When I got to work there was 50 something in the waiting room with a 24 hour wait. I heard there was no beds in our hospital due to staffing upstairs. We were holding 30 something admits. When I left we were down to 40 something people in the waiting room and a 10 hour wait. We were starting to get beds mid afternoon
